My satisfaction was "Running on Empty"!
I have always been a huge JB fan and so is my wife of 30 years, don't get me wrong. I had seen La Velada a few times in the 70's and 80's and was really looking forward to our trip to the PNC Pavilion, and our seats in the 5th row. My wife was really hoping to hear "Late for the Sky". I was hoping to hear "Before the Deluge" and "Doctor My Eyes" and maybe "Linda Paloma". Well, we were both disappointed. The only great songs he played were "The Pretender", "For Everyman", "Take It Easy", and "Load Out/Stay". I could have cared less about "Tokoyo Girl" and "Live Nude Cabaret", as well as a few others. Like another viewer wrote, this will be the last time I pay $160 to hear one of my favorite artists play songs that mean nothing to most of the people in the audience. In the old days, he would have never closed without doing both of them. You've got to give the paying crowd what they want to hear, no matter how many times you've played it in your career. I guess everyone else got "Runnin on Empty", and we were treated to "Load Out/Stay." And I couldn't believe right before he closed with Load Out/Stay, he looked at his guitar player and said, "I think this is the 1st time we've played this song on the 2026 tour." Still love JB but never another of his live shows for us.
